Grub & Vine by Chef Matt Manning serves refined bistro-style fare, in a relaxed, contemporary space. Grub & Vine’s seasonal menu changes regularly and the wine list features some of South Africa’s most respected producers.

Matt cut his teeth in London’s Michelin-starred kitchens under the likes of Marcus Wareing, Bryn Williams - and locally, at La Colombe - Matt opened Grub & Vine in December 2018 with his desire to serve good honest cooking with great wines.

Keize Mumba
Sommelier
Keize previously occupied the role of Assistant Sommelier at Azure Restaurant and 12 Apostles Hotel and Spa before joining Grub & Vine. Keize has completed his WSET levels 1, 2 and 3, and is currently studying towards his Level 4 Diploma.

Givemore Dausi
Sous Chef
Givemore started his career at La Mouette where he quickly progressed from commis chef to senior CDP over the course of 4 years. He joined the Grub & Vine team in February 2019 becoming Sous chef after 9 months. He works closely with Chef Matt developing our menu, keeping dishes seasonal and fresh!

Ibrahim Chikwiti
Floor Manager
Ibrahim joined the team as a waiter in December 2018 and has worked his way up to Floor Manager in November 2021. You can spot him on the floor conducting the service with his charm!

The Blue Room
The Blue Room at Grub & Vine is our live music and cocktail lounge that pays homage to the soulful sounds of jazz and the blues. A collaborative venture between Grub & Vine's Chef Patron Matt Manning and well-known jazz artist Buddy Wells, the lounge also sports a state-of-the-art recording studio, where you'll catch musicians in action from time to time.
The Blue Room is open for lunch from Monday - Friday, brunch on Saturdays and tapas and cocktails at night.

At Grub & Vine we encourage you to make a reservation. However, we do welcome walk-ins and if we can't seat you immediately, we invite you to enjoy a Cocktail in The Blue Room or a glass of vino in Culture, our swanky wine bar.

Dining Areas
When booking at Grub & Vine, you’ll have a choice of two dining areas. In Grub & Vine's main dining room you can expect gorgeous views of the city in a contemporary setting with a vibey, buzzing atmosphere.
The Green Room is Grub & Vine’s second dining room, situated away from the hustle & bustle of the main dining area. Aptly named for its greenery and garden-inspired décor, the Green Room is ideal for romantic date nights and intimate gatherings, and has a small outdoor courtyard and private bar. The Blue Room is our live jazz & cocktail lounge located on the ground floor of the building. Open for lunch and for live music in the evenings, you can choose to join us for dinner or just cocktails and tapas while you enjoy some live music by some of the top Jazz, Blues and Soul artists in the country.
Dietary Requirements
At Grub & Vine we offer a small, seasonal menu. If you have any dietary requirements, please inform us at the time of your booking and it will be our pleasure to accommodate you.
Booking Policy
For dinner reservations we require a deposit of R150pp to secure your table which is off set against your final bill. Should you wish to cancel your booking you must do so 48 hours prior to your reservation, otherwise we regret that your deposit will not be refunded.
Any changes to the number of guests should be communicated to Grub & Vine at least 24 hours ahead of the booking.
Gratuity
12% service charge will be added to your final bill.
Bookings are essential to avoid disappointment.
