Grub & Vine by Chef Matt Manning serves refined bistro-style fare, in a relaxed, contemporary space. Grub & Vine’s seasonal menu changes regularly and the wine list features some of South Africa’s most respected producers.

Matt cut his teeth in London’s Michelin-starred kitchens under the likes of Marcus Wareing - and locally, at La Colombe - before embarking on a career as a private chef. Grub & Vine is Matt's first restaurant.


Keize Mumba


Keize previously occupied the role of Assistant Sommelier at Azure Restaurant and 12 Apostles Hotel and Spa before joining Grub & Vine. Keize has completed his WSET levels 1, 2 and 3, and is currently studying towards his Level 4 Diploma.

Floor Manager

Sean is known for his immaculate service and attention to detail, always taking pride in providing a top class service. His charm is as dangerous as his good looks!



Head Waiter

Our most experienced waiter, Nosi has worked in hospitality for over 10 years. She is attentive, knowledgeable and always has the biggest smile on the floor!

At Grub & Vine we encourage you to make a reservation. However, we do welcome walk-ins and if we can't seat you immediately, you can enjoy a drink or two at our neighbours; Froggit & Vonkel.

Opening Times

Monday - Closed

Tuesday - Friday
We are open for lunch between 12pm - 2:30pm.
Dinner we are open from 6pm. Kitchen takes last orders at 9pm.

Brunch & Dinner - On Saturday we serve brunch between 11:30am - 2:30pm.
Dinner we are open from 6pm. Kitchen takes last orders at 9pm.

Lunch - Sunday's are all about Sunday Lunch.

Dining Areas

When booking at Grub & Vine, you’ll have a choice of two dining areas. In the main dining area, expect gorgeous views of the city in a contemporary setting with a vibey, buzzing atmosphere.

The Green Room is Grub & Vine’s separate dining room, situated away from the hustle & bustle of the main dining area. Aptly named for its greenery and garden-inspired décor, the Green Room is ideal for romantic date nights and intimate gatherings, and has a small outdoor courtyard.

To book a table in your area of choice, simply select ‘Grub & Vine’ for the main dining area or the ‘Green Room @ Grub & Vine’ as your seating preference when booking via the Dineplan widget.

Private Dining Room
Our private dining room consists of a 24 seater communal dining table, a private bar and a cosy courtyard. Contact us directly to book for your special lunch or dinner.

Dietary Requests
At Grub & Vine we offer a small, seasonal menu. If you have any dietary requests, please inform us at the time of your booking and it will be our pleasure to accommodate you.

Booking Policy
For dinner reservations, a deposit of R150 per guest is required for tables of 6 or more, to secure your table. Should you wish to cancel your booking you must do so 24 hours prior to your reservation, otherwise we regret that we cannot offer a refund on the deposit.

A 12.5% service charge is added to tables of 6 or more.

Bookings are essential to avoid disappointment.
